Since April 2017, Elanor Jackson and Alison Napier have been working with Terre des Hommes (Tdh) to develop programmatic and organisational Theories of Change (ToC). The process started with introductory webinars in English, Spanish and French to introduce the concept of ToC to Terre des Hommes’ staff around the world.
Following this, Tdh set up working groups for each of its five thematic programmes to lead the ToC process internally. The working groups then did some preparatory analysis work, which was used during a series of workshops in Lausanne in mid-June to develop draft ToCs. These were presented to the wider organisation at Tdh’s global programme’s day in Morges on 1st July. The programme teams are now finalising their ToC visuals and narratives, using an agreed ‘template’ with some common elements to ensure a degree of consistency across the programmes.
