Wanjiru is a trained lawyer, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, and a dedicated champion of social justice and good governance. A passionate changemaker, Wanjiru is deeply committed to creating social impact, promoting community organizing and social accountability. She advocates for the inclusion of Global South perspectives in shaping international development and leverages the power of social media for advocacy, campaigning, and driving meaningful social change.
Currently, she serves as the Network Coordinator for the Global Public Investment Network. The Global Public Investment (GPI) approach has emerged as an ambitious and viable way to increase the amount of public money available for global goals, while improving the governance and effectiveness of spending. GPI enables all countries to contribute and to have a meaningful say in mission-oriented finance for common global needs, building on well-established movements on tax and the global debt and loans architecture.
At the Network, Wanjiru leads the coordination and development of strategies, manages operations and systems, and spearheads outreach, advocacy, and fundraising efforts. Her role also involves actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure the Network’s mission is achieved.
Wanjiru also serves as a Governing Board Member of Talk To Loop, a global accountability platform that enables communities to provide feedback on humanitarian and development services.
