Somanah joined INTRAC as Training Strategy and Delivery Lead in July 2023.
Somanah has been working in the NGO, and education & training sector for over 25 years. He has been providing capacity building and organisational development to NGOs based both nationally and worldwide in various areas such as strategic and business planning, fundraising and income generation, business and community engagement, digital transformation, financial planning, finance reviews, quality assurance, demonstrating valued added and impact, developing partnerships and consortia.
He has both teaching and coaching qualifications and led the development and delivery of various education and training programmes; and coaching and mentoring schemes for various organisations. His international projects included: How to Educate Learners through Peer Mentoring (HELP), delivered in various EU countries, France, Germany, Greece, Republic of Ireland, and Spain and others; Participation for Change (P4C), project about increasing participation in civil society and developing charity sector in Estonia, Germany, Poland, and Slovenia. He still teaches leadership and management courses to staff and volunteers in the NGO sector.
Prior to joining INTRAC, he was the International Development and Partnerships Manager at the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD) and together with international partners such as WHO, IADPO, RDTC, he developed their IFD Strategy and Grants Programmes; Patient Engagement Strategy and Education Programme; Fundraising and Revenue Development Strategy; Investment Policy and Strategy; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy and Strategy whilst providing support to the health projects based in low resource settings and under-served areas such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Botswana, Cambodia, Malawi, Mexico, Nepal, Philippines, Tanzania, and various others.
