Ruth joined the INTRAC board in 2024. Ruth is deeply committed and passionate about showcasing the work and impact that locally led forced displacement initiatives have globally.
Currently, she is the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising at Cohere, an INGO that aims to see individuals, communities and leaders in contexts affected by forced displacement work towards aligned and integrated visions for change. Cohere is on a mission to unleash the power of refugees to determine their own futures in their own terms. Ruth’s role in Cohere focuses on strategically developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders within the sector, securing funding, and driving collaboration to further the Cohere’s mission. Her dedication to increasing the agency and inclusion of marginalised communities into partnership negotiations and ideations, underscores her commitment to ensuring that all support channelled to local actors through Cohere is impactful and creates pathways to achieving long term change.
Part of her work includes supporting the Reframe network, a platform developed by Cohere to showcase the work that forced displacement initiatives are doing and connecting them to a global support base. Before joining Cohere, Ruth worked in start-up firms and a professional services firm in Kenya, where she led project and business strategy development. She holds a BA in International Relations and is pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management.
