Originally trained as a civil engineer, David-Huw has some 25yrs experience across academia, commercial consultancy and INGO sectors, working in a variety of business development, R&D, technical and management consultancy capacities.
He is currently the Global Director of Programme Funding & Institutional Partnerships at Save the Children International, the world’s leading independent organisation for children. He previously led Oxfam GB’s Programme Funding & Partnerships division, providing strategic leadership across all of their commercial and restricted grant contract development with governments, bilateral and multilateral agencies worldwide.
In his +15yrs of private consultancy and academic research capacities, he led high-level delegations and engagements, directed numerous strategic development initiatives, and directly managed major multidisciplinary programmes in the UK and across Europe, including international policy development, R&TD, and technology transfer projects & programmes. He has published technical reports and academic papers, has coordinated major stakeholder engagement events, and has authored high-level reports for UK, European and International Governments, as well as inquiry evidences to both the UK House of Commons and House of Lords.
He has been a Fellow of the Institute of Commercial Management, and is currently a member of the Chartered Institution of Fundraising, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Chartered Association of Project Managers, of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.
