Join development practitioners from around the world for our popular Theory of Change for planning and impact assessment course on 2-6 October 2017. Taking place in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Hawkwell House Hotel in Oxford, UK, this course introduces the elements of Theory of Change and offers the opportunity for participants to apply and experiment with the key ideas and processes. The course is developed and facilitated by INTRAC consultant and M&E/Theory of Change specialist practitioner Maureen O’Flynn.
Interest in developing and using Theories of Change both for planning and assessing impact has grown rapidly over the last few years. Theories of Change can be set at different levels and are being used in a number of ways. At one end of the scale, they are pulled together by one person to support a programme proposal or a specific donor demand. At the other end, they are facilitated over a period of several months and include wide consultation with staff, partners and beneficiaries, and are used to inform strategy at all levels. This course will help you to understand how theories of change apply to your work and enable you to undertake a participatory theory of change process in your team or organisation.
The course is practical and participatory. Participants bring a relevant live case study to work on during the course. This provides an opportunity to start applying their learning to their work in real time.
